HELEN McGOVERN
Assistant Solicitor | Commercial Property LawHelen is an Assistant Solicitor in the Property Department of Elliott Duffy Garrett. Helen graduated from Cardiff University in 2008 with LLB (Hons) in Law and Criminology. She then continued her academic studies at Cardiff University, where she successfully completed her Legal Practice Course (LLM) with distinction. Helen qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales working for Herbert Smith Freehills LLP (ALT) in 2016. Helen practised in the real estate team of Herbert Smith Freehills, Belfast until taking up her position at Elliott Duffy Garrett in January 2023 when she was also admitted onto the roll of Solicitors in Northern Ireland.
Helen has experience in all areas of commercial property to include acting for a wide range of clients including funders, institutional investors and major retailers in respect of industrial estates, office buildings, retail parks, shopping centres, restaurants and commercial and mixed use premises. Helen advises on all aspects of Commercial Property law to include the sale/grant and acquisition of freehold/leasehold interests; asset management and property aspects of share sale transactions. She also has experience acting on residential conveyancing and energy agreements.”
