EDG helps Welcome Organisation to Create Change

EDG continued its efforts to support the Welcome Organisation, its chosen charity for 2017, by volunteering  at its drop-in centre.  Annette Cadden, Naomi Lamont, James Hutchison and Ian McFarland spent an afternoon working between the Street Gems project, where they were upcycling furniture which will be sold to raise funds, and the food donations section, where they sorted provisions to ensure that they are properly stored.

EDG staff were very impressed by the Welcome Organisation’s facility and interested to see not only how it works but also how our fundraising campaign can help the charity.

It is intended to continue this initiative later in the year by sending more volunteers to assist in the valuable work carried out by the Welcome Organisation.

TAGLaw Conference - Update

EDG hosted 50 lawyers from across Europe at the TAGLaw European Regional Conference in Belfast on 11 and 12 March 2016.

The weekend began with a conference dinner in the Belfast Harbour Commissioners’ Offices, after which some delegates sampled the delights of Belfast’s nightlife.  Riddel Hall was the venue for an exciting programme of speakers and lively discussion on topics including the UK referendum on UK membership of the EU. This was followed by a visit to Crumlin Road Gaol.  The formal part of the conference ended on Saturday evening with dinner in Malone House.

Kevin McVeigh, partner at EDG, said "Being a member of TAGLaw means we can provide an international service to our clients. The European Regional Conference is a significant annual event which strengthens the links between the member firms and we were delighted to host a very successful 2016 Conference.”
